Ready to join the ranks of Planeswalkers? Our Magic Academy: Learn to Play event is perfect for newcomers curious about Magic: The Gathering. You'll receive your very own Welcome deck (yours to keep!), learn the fundamentals from our friendly staff, and play your first games in a supportive environment. We'll watch an intro video together, then our team will guide you through your first matches, answering questions along the way. This session perfectly kicks off our three-week Magic journey leading to the Final Fantasy set prerelease, with a Deck Building workshop the following Saturday. Come see why Magic has captivated players for 30+ years in San Diego's most welcoming game space!

What do I need to bring?
It depends on the event format. Sealed events provide everything you need. Constructed events require your own deck. Check the event description for specific requirements.
Do I need to be experienced to attend?
Not at all! Many of our events are beginner-friendly. Prereleases, learn-to-play sessions, and casual nights are great for newcomers.
How do I register?
