About Bards & Cards
Bards & Cards is a tabletop game shop and community space in Downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, located at 936 5th Avenue. We stock over 13,000 products across trading card games, board games, tabletop role-playing games, miniatures, dice, collectibles, and hobby supplies. Our Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Disney Lorcana, One Piece TCG, and Star Wars: Unlimited selections span sealed product, singles, and accessories. Our board game wall covers more than 400 titles from family-weight party games to heavy strategy Eurogames. Tabletop RPG shelves include Dungeons & Dragons (2024 and 2014 rules), Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, and dozens of indie systems.
The shop hosts weekly tournaments, prereleases, learn-to-play events, and casual play nights. Regular programming includes Friday Night Magic, Commander League, Pokémon TCG events, Disney Lorcana play groups, Dungeons & Dragons one-shots, Warhammer 40,000 hobby nights, and board-game open play. Prereleases for every major Magic: The Gathering set are held in-store the weekend before official release. The shop also participates in regional and worldwide events including Magic Store Championships, Commander Party nights, and Friday Night Rivals.
