How to Connect Your Riot Account to Your Riftbound Account

Participating in one of our Riftbound events? Here's how to set up your accounts properly so the tournament software will allow you to participate. Note that this is 100% required to participate in all Riftbound events!

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Visit Riot’s Account Portal

   • Go to https://account.riotgames.com/

   • Sign in or create a new Riot Games account.

    

2. Set Your Riot ID

   • On your Riot account page, ensure your Riot ID is set.

   • This is the name that appears in all Riot titles (League, Valorant, etc.).

    

3. Go to Riftbound

   • Open https://locator.riftbound.uvsgames.com/

   • Sign in or create a Riftbound account.

    

4. Connect Accounts

   • When prompted, authorize Riftbound to connect to your Riot account.

    

5. Completion

   • Once connected, your Riftbound and Riot accounts are now linked.

    

Important Notes on Riot ID

• Riot ID Structure:

  Formatted as GameName#Tagline (e.g., EarlGreyTeemo#sip).

• Game Name:

  • This is your display name across all Riot games.

  • Must be 3–16 alphanumeric characters.

  • Cannot include offensive or inappropriate terms.

  • Does not need to be unique — your tagline differentiates it.

   

• Tagline:

  • 3–5 alphanumeric characters following the #.

  • Cannot use retired region codes such as NA, EUW, OCE, etc.

  • Must also be appropriate.

  • If you receive a “Riot ID already in use” error, change your tagline and retry.
