Hellwhalers is a dark nautical tabletop RPG steeped in maritime folklore and Christian-inspired horror. Players take on the roles of damned whalers, condemned to sail the oceans of Hell in pursuit of a monstrous leviathan known only as the Hellwhale. Legend says that slaying the beast might earn you something rare in these cursed waters: forgiveness.

Life aboard the ship is anything but peaceful. Each day brings new dangers, strange encounters, and grim choices as you gamble with souls, fish unspeakable creatures from hellish depths, and face the creeping madness of an endless voyage. Souls earned through roleplay, challenges, and risky bets fuel the campaign’s central goal: pulsing the Hellwhale’s blackened heart, an unholy relic kept under lock by the captain.

Once the heart begins to beat, the hunt truly begins.

The game supports 2–5 players plus a Guide who portrays the ship’s captain—a harsh, obsessive leader pushing the crew ever closer to the monster that may save or damn them all. A unique gambling system using a Sic-Bo dice board drives procedurally generated events, shaping each voyage into a different story of temptation, survival, and grim determination.

Packed into 56 pages are lore-rich tables, branching storylines, haunting artwork, and the tools to build a voyage through Hell’s oceans filled with curses, strange relics, and monstrous sea life.
